You can simply follow a route via the RunnerMaps web app, but you can also export it and follow it on your sports watch.
You don't need to install a separate app for this.
Open RunnerMaps in your phone’s browser and open the route you want to follow.
Click on the crosshairs icon (the bottom button in the top-left corner of the map).
The icon will now turn green and a small circle will appear in the centre of the map. This is your current position.
RunnerMaps will now continue to track your position, so you can easily see on the screen where you are in relation to the route.
This applies to the Fenix models, the more advanced Forerunner models, and the Edge cycle computers.
Open the route in the browser in your mobile browser (for example: https://runnermaps.nl/route/230997).
Click on the Export icon (the square with the arrow pointing diagonally upwards).
Click on "Open" at the top or bottom of the screen. (If this doesn’t appear, check for a notification about the downloaded file and click on it.)
Open the file using Garmin Connect.
Watch the video on YouTube for the next steps.
For this, you’ll need a Garmin watch that supports Connect IQ apps (such as all Fenix models, Forerunner models 55 and higher, the Vivoactive, and the Venu models).
See the extensive Get Started guide for installation help.
Once you have installed the app, import the route as follows:
Log in and go to the Dynamic Watch homepage. Click on Routes Import (https://dynamic.watch/routes/new).
Copy the route's URL from RunnerMaps (for example: https://runnermaps.nl/route/230997) and paste this into the field.
Click on "Import".
Click on the clock icon next to the route to make it the active route.
When you now open the app on your Garmin, it will display this route.
See Mappily.info for more information about this app.
Once you have installed the app, import the route as follows:
First, open the route on RunnerMaps and click on the Export icon (the square with the arrow pointing diagonally upwards). The GPX file will now be downloaded.
Go to the Mappily website and open the 'Routes' tab.
Upload the GPX file you’ve just downloaded here. The route will now appear in your list (you can edit the name here if you wish).
Finally, open the route in the Mappily app on your Garmin.
